Dr. S & S. S. Ghandhy College of Engineering & Technology is situated in SURAT, the second largest city of Gujarat State. This Institute is one of the oldest and largest Technical Institution of Gujarat. It was established in June 1955. The Department of Textile Manufacturing Technology (DTMT), in Dr. S. & S. S. Ghandhy College of Engineering and Technology, Surat was started in the year 1969. The course duration is of 7 semesters and the intake capacity is of 30 students per year. The college is administered by Directorate of Technical Education, Gujarat, Gandhinagar and is affiliated with Gujarat Technological University (GTU).  In Dr. S & S.S. Ghandhy College Textile processing course is running from 1969 by the reorganization of western region committee of technical education and it provides technocrats for Textile Industries. The textile processing technology is the branch of the mixture of science & technology.
