SSM College of Engineering was established in 1998 through the persistent efforts of ‘Gnanathandhai’ SSM Subramaniam, an industrial conglomerate. The Department offers B.Tech, Textile Technology course, which is approved by AICTE, Government of India. This course caters well to the need of technicians in the Spinning, Weaving, Garment Manufacturing & Decentralized Power Loom Sector & other related Institutions & Industries. Department of textile chemistry was started in the year 1998 under the affiliation of AICTE and Anna University. Initially, the department of Textile Chemistry was offering only B-Tech, later in the year, 2004 M-Tech was approved by AICTE and ANNA University.
