Apparel Exporters Association of Ludhiana (APPEAL), established in 1998 under the UNIDO Cluster Development Program, is a 'non-profit' organization working for strengthening the microeconomic environment of the cluster, along with other cluster actors, for achieving the common goal of sustainable development. Presently, it has been addressing the issues like strengthening linkages of SMEs for trade promotion through common participation in international and national fairs, organizing buyer-seller meets, sub-contracting; promoting socially and environment friendly business practices by conducting workshops and training programs; strengthening common infrastructure facilities by setting up an international standard Apparel Park (An Industrial Estate); bringing the industry's views to bear on the drafting of new legislation or new directives, or their amendment, and advising policymakers on questions of industrial policy.
